Re: Team Shakey Build Diary

That high pressure setup had the ram that is currently sitting in Manta- I was chatting to Ed and we can't work out why it works so much better as Im running a very similar setup.

I'm still trying to locate your ram Alex. I think I know where it is though :p

Re: Thread for silly questions about rules!

I've spent a great deal of time working on most of these points to speed up our AWS in Reading after we overran the first time. Last year was considerably smoother and we still had time for breaks during the competition which I feel was down to the following. 1. Having the sign in and tech check lin...

Re: A new antweighter (again!)

I will be there with my ants but the beetles will be taking priority as they have the main competition. I am also promoting Shockbots on the day.

Re: Will's Nanoweights

After a bit of thought I finally decided that I need another nano spinner so I have rebuilt Inertia XT :) It now has proper gearmotors for drive and a deltang rx to get the size and weight down. With the old disc it weighs in around 30g but I have just ordered a new single tooth blade which should c...

Re: Will's Nanoweights

Its a pretty straightforward process :) when you remove the board from the servo you remove the potentiometer and replace it with fixed resistors (normally 2.2k) and then wire it up as usual

Re: 2015 AWS Rule Debate?

As has already been pointed out the Shockbots robots are designed to be competitive robots as an entry into the sport for those who may not necessarily have access to the tools and equipment to build their own robots. The Nanobots are exactly the same- if I was to build one and enter it no one would...

They are very good :) I've just ordered a couple more batches as these will be going into my Nanobots for the Shockbots site.

Re: Will's Nanoweights

After recieving my order of those tiny dual motor drive units last week I decided to try some out. Lumos was the first to recieve them after I broke one of the servos during testing. I split the units in half, wired them into the servo boards and configured them in a new assembly. The result is far ...

Re: AWS 46- University of Reading- 28th March 2015

I am working on the options for the fleas and Nanos- either option may involve getting people to the venue relatively early. The new room we are in should help greatly with the issues we had before- everything will be contained in one room with the pits overlooking the arena- we also have 4 projecto...

AWS 46- University of Reading- 28th March 2015

Apologies for the delay in getting this confirmed, due to an increase in costs we have had to swap venue and I wanted to make sure that we could still offer the same standard of event for this years competition as we have for the past few. The venue has now been booked so I can confirm that AWS 46 w...

Re: Will's Nanoweights

I agree it could do with a new name- need suggestion. Current option is Leviosa.

Still playing around with options for the spinner- need some inspiration for it.
