Re: Robot Wars TV Series 2016 BBC 2

The One Show had a couple of segments on the new series this evening. Our robot was on the screen for almost a whole second :D

Heavyweight Battery

In light of the recent news that Robot Wars is returning to BBC, we're looking at the possibility of bringing back DisConstructor.

One thing we need are new batteries. We operate of a 24V system. Does anyone have any recommendations or what current heavyweights are using now?

Re: Funding Future AWS Events

We are probably at the stage where we do (unfortunately) have to look into ways of raising money to cover the cost of events. I've been thinking about this, and had a couple of ideas on how to make money to pay for AWS events. 1) If we got some simple adverts on the main website. 2) Sponsership fro...

Re: AWS 40

Signed up already, but I wanted to check the rules about interchangeable shells and/or weapons, something i'm working on at the moment. Also I may sign up Little Doris for the non spinner competition if i can get it working again.

Re: Help! Need materials

I've added a voltage regulator into the circuit so the main board does not overload. Voltage going in was indeed 6.8V but now it is 5.9V max.

the rest of the circuit is still running on "6V".

I will begin programming it tomorrow, and then the final assembly of the whole project :D.

Re: Help! Need materials

Me again, new problem. I'm using a deltang board but i want to check that i won't overload it with the 6V battery i'm using. I've attatched the proposed circuit diagram. The speaker at the top is a Pringles speaker i'm using. Do you think this will work? (i hope so as i have to submit my project nex...

Re: Help! Need materials

Only solution I can offer is to buy some (un-inflated) party balloons and cut & stick to form what you need. :o erm.. my zeppelin is about 2m long by 1m wide, i need alot. Perhaps not that method :P . I am going to try some local model shops, and phone up some balloon manufacturers see if i can get...

Re: Brighton Mini Maker Faire 8th September 2012

I'll be there in Saturday. Do you still need any help running the stand? I may be able to help out, but not a definite answer yet. Also do you want any antweights to display? I can't get them running, they're plaing up a bit.
