Re: AWS 41 - Caerphilly 27th July 2013

Will try my best to make this but to be honest I doubt it.
I am aiming for Robotwars Newport with my feather and building 2 ants for this isnt really going to happen.
Also its a bit far.
Shame :(

Everything that josh said is sound.
I would say however that you should keep the drill quite quick with small holes with very ligh presure put on the bit.

Drilling big holes, slow speed lots of force and lubricant to keep the bit cool

And of course the time designing the robot in the CAD software involves no work either. :P
3D printing is a tool. Just like a lathe, knifes or scissors. It all depends how you use it.

Ah when you said down south, I thought you meant down south ^_^
Think a train is an easier option for me then. Getting to Wales then going to Yorkshire is quiet backwards for me.

However the design is really similar to the original psycho ant. Infact I think its the exact same design th...

Oh em geee, its duff!
On subject. I noticed that shape ways are doing stainless steel now. Any one tried this or done any more research then I have. I know the accuracy is a bit low. I think its 1mm tolerance so maybe not the best for spinning weapons.
