Re: The smart ant's and flea's
Congratulations. Good job!
Did you write any spec / doc? Is that the board with the chunky SMPS for 5v?
If you have trouble taking photos, try putting it on a flatbed scanner, I did that at some point (note: scanners have a very short depth of field)

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?
Yes, I abandoned that prototype and assembled another one. This now seems to mostly* work. I also took an earlier prototype and put it into a Antweight-sized test robot ("Bernard") and it drives pretty well. Additionally, the receiver in Bernard has working telemetry which gives battery vo...

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?
Kyro, you are exactly right, pin 7&8 are connected on all of the motor driver chips. However, this isn't a design fault, it's actually supposed to be like that (they are the vcc and enable pin). The traces join and some solder tends to wick into that place. It's not a mistake. There were multipl...

Re: ESC with built-in receiver - interesting?
Ok, I've assembled the latest prototype. It doesn't work. I don't know why. Making fine-pitch SMD without the right equipment is tricky (I have only basic stuff compared to the hackspace). This time I don't think there is a design fault, just cack-handed assembly. Render http://vectrex.org.uk/mark/m...

Also, can you check the search facility, it seems to need reindexing or something, it's not finding things (Example: search "lipo connector" it does not find many messages about lipo connector)

Re: PLANNED OUTAGE - Weds 1st April 6pm onwards
Good job, it's working really well.
One thing I can suggest, is can we have https enabled by default automatically (e.g. with a redirect?)
Seems very fast.
Thanks
Mark

Re: Team Astro Build Log (Cheese bots)
If the RX is fine with 10 volts, then the wiring is easy. Just make up two "Y" cables and wire the negative and positive to the rx negative and positive and the esc negative and positive. In receivers with traditional "servo plug" connectors, all the positive and negative pins ar...
