Re: Pre modded servo boards for escs?

Sounds more like a poor design or poor choices of parts, than a manufacturing defect. A voltage drop of 2V at the kind of current we'd see through a N20 is extremely high, did you have access to an oscilloscope? Maybe the duty cycle is less than 100% even when the stick is at the extreme position? -...

Re: Malenki-ESC open source Antweight ESC

Sounds like there is enough interest for me to knock up a batch. I'll let you know when they're ready and we can sort out the details (it will not be really soon, I need to order more parts, the boards are in the post).

There are also a few more tweaks to the firmware that I'd like to do.

Do you have a link to the datasheet?

Re: Malenki-ESC open source Antweight ESC

Hi, It seems the Malenki-ESC is now working a lot better. * It does bot :) - I've built part of my next bot and it's driving just fine with 2 N20s. * I solved the voltage regulation problem which caused 2 mcus to be destroyed If I make a *small* number of these boards, does anyone want to test one? ...

Re: DVD-RW motor?

It is probably a brushless motor. I'm fairly sure that the 4th wire is a centre-point wire in the Y configuration of the brushless. It could be difficult to identify the wires. I suggest something like this: * Measure the resistance between each pair of wires * The one with the lower resistance to t...

Re: A Hotel, constructed of Limas, for Ants: A Build Diary

I wasn't suggesting removing the protective film from the pack, just the warning label on the lead :) I did peel the labels off one of my packs because I was trying to fit it into a very slim space (actually rather stupidly, I bought larger packs than necessary, 300mAh). But not the film or anything...

Looks great, perhaps remove the "read warning before use" label from the lipo :)

Re: GeorgeR's robots

Hi,

How have you made that linkage to connect the axe to the two N20 shafts?

Is it some kind of shaft coupler, flange plate thingy? Did you machine it yourself? It looks good anyway.

Re: Team Pushover's Ants Build Log.

on the end of the spikes, is it a silicone / rubbery material for better grabability?

Looks fearsome though. I love the paintjob.

Re: Malenki-ESC open source Antweight ESC

There are three wires to connect. Two for power, and the third carries signals for all channels. Typically there's a dupont connector with three pins, gnd, power, signal. This is mechanically same as a servo, except it is electrically different. The ESC provides power to the RX (just like the Dasmik...
