Re: "Pink chompy robot"?
Thanks for the kind words Dave  That sounds like my daughters robot Loki. She came up with the concept for what she wanted it to do, I did the CAD and printing and then gave it back to her for decoration :) At the AWS I was driving and she operated the weapon, but we are trying to get more pra...

Re: Revision of Nanoweight Cube Size
Having seen the nanos in action at AWS54, I've been inspired to build a nano for one of the next competitions and just thought sharing some of the reasons might add another angle to this debate... Having competed in antweights 13 years ago and then taken a significant break it was great to see the i...

Re: Tom's Robots
The grabber worked pretty well (won 2 lost 2). One of the losses was caused by my bad driving, I turned the wrong way into the pit instead of away  It could do with more traction when it has grabbed another robot, we didn't have difficulty grabbing other robots but struggled to move them once ...

Re: Tom's Robots
Had a great time at AWS54 lots of great fights and all the robots won at least one fight this time which was amazing. I do need to leave a bit more ground clearance next time as by the time the arena floor has been gouged by a few spinners and there is a bit of debris on the surface Nigel and Franco...

Thanks for a great day. We all had a great time, Aimee is especially proud of the award that was given to her robot Loki. Thanks to the organisers and all who helped make the day run so smoothly.

Tom's Robots
Hi Guys, I thought it was time I stopped lurking in the background and start a build thread! After being inspired from the last AWS we attended and a ridiculous quote from Shapeways for some parts I had designed for a future project, I decided to take the plunge and ordered myself a 3d Printer. I we...

Re: AWS 52 - Greenwich University - Sign up + details
Thanks for a fun day, we all really enjoyed ourselves. It was great to see some impressive robots in the arena, and such a great community spirit.
Looks like I'm going to need to brush up my CAD skills and hopefully bring something a bit more competitive to the next event we attend.
