Cereal Box Antweight- The Krave Monster
Here is my latest ant weight combat robot, the Krave Monster. https://youtu.be/tQWT6AkADbs This robot is kind of a combination of a "dust pan" style combat robot with a clamp style. The dust pan forms the bottom of the mouth, and has a movable front wedge that keeps enemy robots from drivi...

Suggestions on a Weapon for BB-8 Droid?
Hi guys! I've built myself a BB-8 droid which I plan to enter into combat. I know it's not going to be effective- it makes manyyy sacrifices for the look. However, the important internals are at least quite high off the ground, and the robot will work fine even if the sphere gets penetrated. I'll ad...

Re: New 3D printed Antweight with molded Urethane tires
Agreed- I did go too far with my conclusion. With 100% infill the ABS parts can be quite strong and I'm sure I'll use it again in the future. But when you have an impact, most metal bends, ABS plastic shatters. My next robot may have 3d printed motor mounts, and maybe even chassis, but the weapon an...

Re: New 3D printed Antweight with molded Urethane tires
Yep- US ant weight. Hopefully I didn't post this in the wrong spot? And I've heard that the shock of impact can break brushless motors that are direct driving weapons, which is why I decided to use a belt drive. I also wanted to slow the weapon down a bit, because I have two teeth per rotation and w...

New 3D printed Antweight with molded Urethane tires
So this is my first combat robot, it's a belt-driven drum bot. A video of the assembly and testing is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8Sn5vZjGPM The only 3D printed robots I've seen are from shape ways- and their nylon is way stronger then ABS that I used. Not sure what'll happen.... but at l...
