Re: Gs Nanoweight.......?

The drive servos look good; you don't actually have to use separate ESCs as each servo includes a built in ESC. You just have to replace the potentiometer with two resistors in this order with the board oriented chip on top, blue potentiometer wires on the bottom: 1.4k ohm resistor from centre to ri...

Re: Increasing numbers

Really good idea starting this thread now before the situation occurs and great to see all of the positive thoughts on how to work things. My thoughts would be as follows: Option 1 does sound moderately fair (although a little harsh of course to those who see the event later than others) and the eve...

Re: Rule Debates

I would say that ROBOX was legal in comp via a loophole in the rule as currently written, yes. But I also believe that what 2b is supposed to mean is pretty widely understood by everyone and that, in this case, it is being exploited away from intended meaning. Thanks very much Dave. Could you pleas...

Re: Rule Debates

As I've said before, sir, I (and many others) believe rule 2b makes ROBOX against the rules. We are currently in the process of accessing that rule to clear up the loophole used and make it as explicitly clear as possible. Thanks Dave. I'm afraid I don't quite understand that. I do not believe what...

Re: Rule Debates

Thanks for your input Dave. I really appreciate the work you put in to ensure that the AWS is a fair competition; very admirable indeed. I do take sticking to the rules very seriously so I am upset to see that you believe Robox to have been against the rules on the point of entry into AWS 55. I pers...

Re: Rule Debates

After the rule debates about expansion at the weekend with Team Effort and Team Antivate, I was told that it didn't say in the rules that an expanding robot (or any robot for that matter) had to start in the configuration in which it fits within the four inch cube size limits. It most certainly doe...

Re: Walker rule clarification? Unusual design.

@Antroboteer Thanks Dave, not meant to be a definitive opinion; agreed I could have worded that better. Thanks for pointing that out. Some great comments have been posted and I think it has been agreed the rule isn't clear and is open to interpretation. Therefore, I guess what I am trying to say th...
