Low cost DIY esc

Hi everyone, I'm involved with a robotics club at university, we recently had a little competition where we have teams a kit of parts and they went off and built antweights. We needed to keep the cost as low as reasonably possible so used servo boards as ESCs, Chinese gearmotors, lemon RX's, 2S lipo...

Brushless motor help

Hi,
Does anyone know whether this motor works on 2s?
https://hobbyking.com/en_us/dys-be1806- ... 2s-3s.html
The information seems inconsistent with HobbyKing sometimes saying it's 3s and sometimes 2s.
If not can anyone recommend a reasonably cheap 2s brushless?

Mixing on Devo 7E

Hey,
Has anyone worked out how to do mixing on the Devo 7E with the deviation software?
I've had a look through the user manual but the section on mixing seems to be talking about changing the acceleration curve rather than mixing two channels together (like a v-tail mixer)

Re: DSMX / DSM2 Compatibility

Maybe they would fit this:

Assuming you could get it without the pins

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers

Out of the box thinking: maybe a bind button? Just a tiny latching push button on the board? Not sure if this is a practical idea but might make things easier?

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers

I guess if you disabled the Bec it wouldn't be all that difficult to crack open a brushless esc, unsolder the red wire that goes to the rx and solder it on in place of the positive a battery terminal, if you see what I mean?

Re: TinyTwo Speed Controllers

Maybe it isn't an issue for other people but I felt easier access to the full unregulated battery power would be useful. ie a set of pads parallel to the battery connection to solder on wires for brushless escs, servos etc.

Re: Team MedBots

But as I'm running the SG90 boards I can't have the rx running at 7.2V or it will likely blow the boards :( I guess I could power rx directly off battery then run a Bec in parallel with the battery and use that to power the sg90 boards but by that point all the wiring is getting relatively complicat...

Anyone got any thoughts on these:

We've got them at Uni and they seem pretty good
