There are three main categories of arena:
Real world - Micro machines style arenas where everyday objects are used as obsticles (eg. a can of coke or a fork)
Active arena - An arena with moving obstacles or offensive obstacles (eg. A circular saw or a cruching/lifting arm of
a flipper like the one at in the UK RW S3 arena.)
Passive arena - This can be a simple piece of wood or metal or a non active arena with standard stationary obstacles (e.g a ramp or wedge bells.)
The basic rules of arenas are that it should be approximately 1 metre square in area, must have open side areas so that competitors can be pushed
off and obstacles must not hinder fights. Offensive obstacles must be able to be turned off at the request of competitors. If the organisers of
the fight decide that an offensive obstacle is too dangerous to the competitors or spectators, then that decision is final.
Arenas may be mutli-layered or have platforms at different heights. Remember that all ants must fit in a 4" cube so that restriction may be tested
by any obstacles. It is suggested that at least some obstacles are removable to allow the arena to be customised.
