Antweight World Series 17

The 17th Antweight World Series is confirmed as taking place on Saturday 16th July 2005 in Burgess Hill at the Burgess Hill Theatre Club.

To register for the event, please use the online registration system.

The Theatre Club is located within a few minutes (10?) walk of Burgess Hill train station which itself is on the main line from London Victoria or Bedford to Brighton. By road it's within easy access of the A23. Burgess Hill is also about 20 minutes south of Gatwick Airport.

Address: Church Walk, Burgess Hill, West Sussex RH15 9BQ
Maps to the event : wide / near

By Road
From North: Take junction 7 off the M25 onto the M23 South (Brighton/Gatwick). Follow the M23 - it will become the A23 after Pease Pottage - keep going. Look for the turning marked A2300 Hickstead, Twineham and Burgess Hill. Take this turning and take the first turning off the roundabout, heading for Burgess Hill.

From South: Join the A23 from Brighton and follow the road until you get to the A2300 Hickstead, Twineham and Burgess Hill. Take this turning and take the first turning off the roundabout, heading for Burgess Hill.

From both directions: Go straight over the next roundabout. At the following roundabout take the third/last junction (A273). [Note: at this roundabout there is a sports centre straight opposite you and a catholic school to your left.]

Follow the A273 around, going straight across the two roundabouts. At the next roundabout [near Tesco] take the last exit. Follow the road until another roundabout and take the second exit. Keep going until you get to a double mini-roundabout.

At the first mini, take the right turn towards the town centre. At the next roundabout [near McDonalds] there are now plenty of carparks: see the carpark map for better information.

By Rail
Look at the carpark map to see the walking route from Burgess Hill station.

From the North: Trains from London to Brighton run at about 20 minute intervals throughout the day, stopping at Burgess Hill. There are also regular trains from Gatwick airport about every 20 minutes.

From the South: Trains from Brighton at 07, 37 and 55 minutes past the hour to Burgess Hill. It's also easy to get here from the Eastbourne line via Wivelsfield station (also actually in Burgess Hill but a bit far to walk.

Rules
Current competition rules can be found here.

Schedule for the day
General schedule for the day:

10am Arrival starts, check in, tech checks, etc
11am Draw for round one and start competition.
01pm Lunch break
04pm Competition ends and presentations.
05pm Committee Adjourn to a nearby cafe or pub.

I'm hoping to do double elimination for the event, rather than a warm up.

If you don't think you can be there for 11, please let me know when I can expect you - we can structure the draw around that.

There will two arenas. One will be used for fighting while the NEXT fight will be getting ready to go as soon as the current one is finished. We have a lot of people coming, so we have to get through a LOT of fights. If we finish early we can use both arenas for some fun.
